The Youth & Families Specialist is responsible for non-medical case management services, support groups, and community engagement activities for young people ages 21 and under and their families. The Specialist is responsible for Youth & Family programming including planning and logistics, program deliverables and expenses, and required reporting. This person loves children and young people, is focused, a good communicator, flexible with a sense of humor, accountable, and has a desire to always keep learning. This role requires evening and weekend availability, with flexibility for weekday hours.

Oversee the execution of existing Youth & Families Programs including non-medical case management, support groups, and community engagement activities.
Build relationships with partners and perform community outreach and engagement to connect youth with TGRCNM programs.
Collaborate with volunteer staff working within the Youth & Families Program.
Develop play-based, culturally responsive activities in alignment with TGRCNM mission and programming.
Develop communications to effectively market and promote Youth & Families Program offerings and events.
Attend staff meetings, speak publicly on behalf of TGRCNM, support events, and perform other related duties to being a member of TGRCNM staff.
Identify areas of program improvement via community feedback methods and implement those improvements.
Other duties as assigned by TGRCNM senior leadership, within the mission and values of the organization.

Knowledge and skills developed through 3+ years of experience working with youth.
Experience working with and/or providing care to TGNC populations.
Experience developing programming for youth and families that is culturally responsive.
Demonstrated experience ensuring justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion are centered in youth programming.
Experience mentoring and/or providing oversight or guidance to peers or subordinates in a professional environment.
General knowledge of programming elements, including planning, resource management, evaluation/assessment, and reporting.
Strong time management skills; ability to manage downtime effectively to enhance productivity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive in communicating program status to colleagues and leadership.
General understanding of service provider operations requiring a keen attention to detail, task completion, and accountability.
Demonstrated client/customer service skills.
Proven conflict management and de-escalation abilities.
Ability to interrupt/challenge bias and discrimination among staff, volunteers, participants, and partners in real-time, and manage people in a manner that promotes equity and inclusion.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications and Google Business Suite.
Spanish-language proficiency is a plus.

Physical demands: Sitting, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds, reaching, carrying, speaking, listening.
Work environment: An environment of high stress and fast pace of crisis intervention. The protocol for safety and security is a priority. Use of phones, in-person assistance, computer, fax, and other general office machinery.
Scheduling: Evenings and weekends are required as part of this role to support programming and support groups.
