  • The Casa Lola Housing Program provides a transitional housing resource and support services to transgender, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, and gender variant people exiting homelessness. The Resident Assistant is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the residence, offering support and assistance to participants in the program, maintaining a respectful atmosphere, and enforcing program procedures and rules.

  • Salary: $16.00-17.50 per hour; up to 30 hours per week; evenings and weekends will be required based on organizational activities and scheduling

    Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

    Reports to: Casa Lola Housing Case Manager

    • Assists in the management of housing operations and programs during scheduled shifts.

    • Follows security measures to ensure accurate resident check in/check out to ensure participant accountability.

    • Offers assistance and support to residents.

    • Documents all resident activities in a timely and thorough manner and ensures participant confidentiality is protected.

    • Makes daily updates to logbooks, attendance sheets, and program documents.

    • Provides support during emergencies including contacting appropriate staff, law enforcement, fire or medical personnel, as necessary and in a timely manner.

    • Enforces program rules and procedures including reporting violations as needed.

    • Conducts walkthroughs of program space throughout assigned shifts.

    • Follows medications protocol to ensure residents can access their medication in a timely manner.

    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reads professional publications; maintains personal networks; participates in professional organizations.

    • Plans and executes weekly programming for participants.

    • Leads and/or assists in the preparation of communal meals for program participants.

    • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required.

    • Assists with administrative and housekeeping tasks as needed.

    • Assists with receiving and putting away supplies and other deliverables.

    • Recommends changes for the betterment of the organization.

    • Preserves the integrity of the program and organization, demonstrating commitment to the TGRCNM vision and mission.

    • Two (2) years of experience working in a human services-related organization; experience in a transitional housing or other residential program preferred.

    • Client intake, documentation, or related experience requiring data collection, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work on multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

    • Strong time management skills; ability to manage downtime effectively to enhance productivity.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proactive in communicating task or project status to colleagues and management.

    • Demonstrated administrative acumen; general understanding of health provider operations requiring a keen attention to detail, task completion, and accountability.

    • Demonstrated client/customer service skills.

    • Proven conflict management and de-escalation abilities.

    • Ability to interrupt/challenge bias and discrimination and engage with people in a manner that promotes equity and inclusion.

    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications and Google Business Suite.

    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a driving record with no moving or criminal violations within two years of hire.

    • Spanish-language proficiency is a plus.

    • Physical demands: Sitting, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds, reaching, carrying, speaking, listening.

    • Work environment: An environment of high stress and fast pace of crisis intervention. The protocol for safety and security is a priority. Use of phones, in-person assistance, computer, fax, and other general office machinery.
