 Gender Minority Perspectives on Peer-led Support Groups in New Mexico

Seeking people who are:

  • Participating in or have within the past year participated in peer-led support groups at the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico (TRC-NM) in Albuquerque or affiliated sites in Las Cruces and Santa Fe, OR:

  • Leading or have led within the past year peer-led support groups at the Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico (TRC-NM) in Albuquerque or affiliated sites in Las Cruces and Santa Fe.

  • Age 18 or older

  • Self-identify as a gender minority*

  • Comfortable to conduct the interview in English

  • Comfortable and consenting to have the research interview audio-recorded

  • Participants must meet ALL of the inclusion criteria to participate in the study

*Please note the term gender minority recognizes identities inclusive of, but not limited to: transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and gender queer.

This project will describe perspectives of gender minority peer-led support group participants and facilitators regarding support group content and outcomes that are important to you. In addition, this project will seek input from peer-led support participants and leaders on the possible development of an online support group.

If you decide to join the project, you will be asked to:

  • Take part in a one-on-one private interview session with a member of the research team.

  • In the interview you will be asked a series of open-ended questions about your participation in the peer-led support groups as well as your input on the possible development of an online support.

  • The interview will take approximately 1 hour.

Participants will be compensated with a $25 Amazon gift card for their time.
